Blog Brain

Teething linked to mushy brain cells in adults

My blog is suffering from a serious case of teething the last few days. The nights have been painfully long as Ava's incisors try to break through. Lately it feels like we have a newborn again (only one that can walk and talk) since sleep has become a precious commodity once more. I keep telling her (and myself) that those darn teeth will be worth it and one day she'll be able to enjoy some of the great pleasures in life such as popcorn at a movie and biting into a juicy apple.  But until then we anxiously await their arrival. Night after night. After night.

With this no-sleep, up-all-night, party-in-her-crib routine we've been experiencing, my brain has melted. It's fried. Deep fried.  Formulating sentences just isn't very fun right now.  But while I wait for my mind to rejuvenate, I've discovered some fantastic places for moms to share their work and connect with other passionate bloggers and entrepreneurs. Check out:

  • Twitter.com – If you don't know what Twitter is, you are missing out on a world of social networking fun. It's based on the premise, "What are you doing right now."  It's a lot to explain and since I have mush brain, I'm going to send you here to read the Twitter Newbie. Twitter is not just for moms - it's a whole world of it's own. And if you would like to follow me, I'm BabyFriendlyLA.
  • MomBloggersClub.com – a wonderful, supportive community for moms who blog.  It's a neat place to connect with others who share your interests and it's great way to spread the word of your website.  The women are inspirational and it's a good networking tool.
  • Twittermoms.com – Once you see how much fun Twitter can be, come check out the Twittermoms website.  Megan Calhoun started this amazing site about a week ago and already has over 300 tweetin' members on board. Way to go Megan!

Baby friendly stores, learning toys and fun contests are just around the corner here at BFLA– so stay tuned and make sure you sign up for the Baby Friendly L.A. Newsletter so you don't miss a beat.  In the meantime, wish Ava (and me!) luck with those darn teeth.
Sweet dreams (someone should have them),
Ro

I feel your pain. We have a teething night owl at home that keeps me up half the night. Maybe the two should hang out sometime and play.

If your ever up in the area you should check out what my sister and I have created. We think you will love it!

I feel your pain also! My little one didn't have any teeth until after his 1st birthday!!! What I thought was nice, was not so nice. They all decided they wanted to come in all at once! I feel like just recently we are starting to get some real sleep! Hylands Teething Tablets are great!! http://www.momfaves.com/faves/444
