Halloween Family Fun
Spook free fun for little ones
Halloween time has evolved for me over the years. In addition to it being a time of spooks and scares, the Halloween season also means I turn another year older. As a child Halloween meant dressing up in frilly costumes that I ended up wearing all year long and my mom baking and decorating amazing cakes for my friend-filled birthday parties. In my twenties Halloween time meant dressing up in a sexy outfit, hitting the town to indulge in a few birthday cocktails and dance the night away. Now that I'm in my thirties, another birthday really isn't high on my favorite things list and dressing up and hitting the town sounds like more of chore than a good time.
This year is different. This year I have a toddler. Not only do I have a toddler, but I have a very girly, princessy, talkative, walking toddler. She may not understand what Halloween is about, but seeing her waddle around in a cute outfit is what (my) dreams are made of. This year I am actually looking forward to the start of the holiday season. And I honestly don't mind turning the calendar year once again.
But since Ava's too young to dance the night away and we really don't want to give her nightmares (she's been sleeping really well and who wants to spoil that?), what is there to do with a little one? Here is a list of Fall festivals and Halloween fun suitable for the whole family:
Pierce College Annual Halloween Harvest Festival
September 26- November 2
Pumpkin patches, kids activities, corn mazes, and hay rides are just some of the fun things you'll find at the festival. And if you are up for getting spooked (not for kids), their haunted house is open from dusk until 10pm or 12 pm on the weekends.
Ticket prices vary per activity. Click here for prices.
